Don has been saying since he bought the boat that he really wanted to take me offshore. He kept saying how much I would love it. It's really hard to do with Dax always at the beach house with us so we finally figured out a weekend that Dax could go to Grammies. We invited Mark and Ashley to come along with us.
Friday night we get the boat all fueled up and bought the bait. Ashley and I were going to make sure we got plenty of rest the night before to be ready for the BIG fishing day. We took our Dramamine the night before and the next morning as instructed by our Captains. The next morning 5 o'clock came early. Ashley and I get dressed in our cute Columbia shirts to look like we are official fisher women's and we head out on our fishing journey.
The water seemed a bit rough but Mark and Don kept telling us it was not that bad. Mark has always bragged about how he has NEVER gotten sea sick before and has been on several boats. We get about 25 miles out and tie to the first rig. Meanwhile, around 7ish Mark decides to crack open his first beer. After fishing the first rig and not getting any bites the guys decide to move to another rig. All the sudden Mark got pretty quite which is very unusual for Mark to be silent. Don asked if he was getting sick. All of the sudden our Captain Mark whom never gets sea sick was chumming the waters off the back of the boat. Mark could not face the fact that he got sea sick and blamed it on the beer he drank. Don had to finally tell him no matter how he looks at it, he indeed get sea sick!
Needless to say the fishing trip part was a bust. We headed back towards land and ended up anchoring in a shallow area to swim and they did a little more fishing. I had suggested to stop at the local Sea Isle marina on the way in to play a little shuffle board to end the trip.
After 12 hours on the boat and no fish but we drank alot of beer!!
