Dad's 3rd hip replacement!!

Dad has survived his 3rd hip replacement!! Yep- #3! I pray this surgery works and gets Dad out of pain! We will see how long he stays off the golf course this time. I went to visit him in the hospital and everyone new Mr. Truitt. While he was in therapy the therapist did not even have to tell him what to do. She just sat back and watched him do his thing. A nurse would walk past the room and holler "How's it going Mr. Truitt!" I think the they should name a wing of the hospital after him! I know he has paid a good penny for it! He gets out of the hospital this afternoon and Kim-ma will have her hands full a patient and Dax tonight!!

New Braunfels Roadtrip!

Dax and I headed to New Braunfels for the weekend to see Grandma and PaPa. Don actually meet us there Friday night also! It was nice to get away for the weekend. I really wanted to take Dax on a train ride. There is a place called WonderWorld in San Marcos so Mom and I packed Dax in the car for this train ride and headed to San Marcos. We got our tickets but before the train ride there are several other tours that lead up to the ride. This was our first time to visit WonderWorld so we were not aware that we were about to take a cave tour before. I carried Dax down the cave tour which was a pretty neat since none of us have never been in a cave before. Man- you talk about a workout carrying a 24lb baby up and down the steep steps. Well- at the end of the cave tour there were several other tours before the train ride. We ended up leaving before the train ride since it was time for Dax to eat and take a nap. Next time we will be prepared and ask for the train ride!

Dax finally got meet Bowen! Bowen came to New Braunfels to visit us. We put Dax to bed handed Grandma the baby monitor and went out in New Braunfels. We had a great time.

Maybe 30s are NOT so bad!!

We FINALLY got a new HEB in the front of our neighborhood which means we don't have to drive 30 minutes to run to the nearest grocery store!! So, we are all excited and we took a family trip yesterday to the new HEB! We could have spent hours looking at the new stuff...They have a cooking station where they give out samples and help with dinner ideas. I skipped out on lunch because I knew there were going to be great samples to fill me up! I went to the cooking station to get a tasty piece of shrimp and the lady looks at me and asked if I had a parent with me because you have to be 18 in order to sample their food. I looked behind me to make sure she was talking to ME and indeed I was the only one there! I actually was stunned and said "Excuse Me!" She repeated what I heard and then she asked me how old I was! I said with a very proud voice "30". We both started laughing and I was a little embarrassed since she had headphones on and our conversation was on the loud speaker and by this time there were about 4 others crowded around us! I got my free sample and I could here her continue to talk about how young I looked!! I certainly don't think I look 18 but I will take it! Now she has a customer for LIFE!

First Kiss!

I just had to share this picture with everyone! Dax got his first kiss from little Ms. Kaydence! This picture was at Kaydence's first birthday. Dax was such a gentleman he closed his eyes for his big smooch!! Kaydence wanted more than one kiss and at one point Dax ran from her! They are to cute!

THE BIG 3-0!!

Hello 30's and good bye 20s!! On January 14 I turned the big 3-0! I am okay with being 30! I think age is just a number and I'm looking forward to many more memories with friends and family!

We celebrated my birthday in New Orleans! We had a great time! We really were only in our hotel room to sleep and take COLD showers. I guess when you wake up at 10 all the hot water is used up. We walked, ate great food, and had a few drinks! :) We rode a mechanical bull with a naked lady, ate at a super nice restaurant that was free due to a mouse running across the floor, and rode in taxis with very interesting people. Thanks everyone for coming to NOLA for my celebration!! I love you guys!!

This was also my first weekend away from Dax! I surprised myself and did not call but once a day! Leaving him with Kim-ma and PaPa made it pretty easy. I knew he was getting extra loving. I was ready to come home on Sunday to see Mr. Dax!!

Dax completed his first week in Daycare!

Well, after having Dax at work with me for the last 9 1/2 months I finally had to put him in Daycare. He was getting so mobile and into everything I was not able to do much work. Nap time was also fun! I had a pack n play in my office and I would literally sit in the dark with a radio on so he could sleep. It was a site! The ladies at the office would slide my messages under my door.

I was totally convinced I was not going to cry when I dropped him off because I knew it was time. Don threatened to take the day off just watch how I reacted. Well- I not only cried but I bawled throughout the day. When I dropped him off I could not leave the ladies house because I would start crying. I would attempt to say bye to Dax and the tears would start coming. I finally told Trisha I was not going to say good-bye and just leave! I started towards the door and shouted BYE! Got in my car and called Don crying!

Dax on the otherhand is so social it did not bug him a bit and was really excited to meet and play with new friends. He has adjusted well. When 3:30 rolls around I am wrapping up my work day and darting out the door around 4 to get Mr. Dax.

Mommy is doing much better now. I thought I was going to go into remission Monday morning but I was a big girl!

Happy Birthday to Don!!

Happy 31st Birthday honey!! It is hard to believe you were just 21 and I was 20 when we first started dating. We were just kids back then! Sometimes you still are!! :) I hope you have a wonderful birthday honey. I am so thankful to have you as my husband. You have been such a wonderful husband and amazing father. I hope you enjoy your first birthday as a father. Thanks for being you and always making us smile!!
