Christmas Time Already?

It's starting to look alot like Christmas at the Satterwhite's house!!  I was trying to think of a tradition for Dax so this year and for the years to come I will take him to Hallmark to pick out his special ornament each year.  This will be the fist ornament hung on the tree.  And this years pick was....Captain Jack Sparrow!

Dax has a love for pirates right now and especially for Jack!!

After the Christmas Tree was up and the stockings were hung we made our own Christmas ornaments.  I painted Dax's hand and put his hand print on the ornament to make snowmen.  They turned out really cute.

Mr. Snapper!

One Friday I stayed home with Dax and we had Mommy/Dax day.  He woke up for some reason determined to learn how to snap.  He spent all day snapping those fingers and trying to figure hot how to make it louder.  I loved his determination and he never gave up.  He indeed learned how to snap that day.  He even snapped so much he got a big blister on his finger from snapping so much.  He broke his snapper!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Don and I hosted Thanksgiving in our new house this year.  It was nice to have the extra room and both sides of the family together.  Don smoked two turkeys that were very juicy and turned out great.  Everyone pitched in and brought a dish.  I am not a very good Betty Crocker to cook all the fixings so it really helps out.

MeMe & Poppy's 60th Wedding Anniversary!

Don's Grandparents celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.  We went to a neat place downtown called the Aquarium.  They have have rides, games and a Aquarium exhibit.  The food is great and it was a special evening for everyone.  They even got a limo to bring them to the restaurant.

First School Field Trip- Dewberry Farms

This is a really neat place that I have been wanting to take Dax.

Funny Dax Stories or Sayings....

I will often have a talk to Dax about having a brother or sister.  We had this talk on the way to the Drs office one morning and I asked if he wanted a baby brother or sister.  He said he wanted a baby brother.  I told him if Mommy has a baby brother he would have to share is Mommy.  He then told me, "Mommy, I want to share you.  Daddy can have a baby brother and I will share him."

Dax calls a trampoline a jumpoline.

He says Streep for Street.

Dax was sick the other day and was throwing up several times.  He told me there was a Monster in his tummy and Daddy needs to shoot it.

Another baby talk....I asked Dax what he would do if I had a baby in my tummy.  He said, "Mommy we need to get that baby out of your tummy throw it in the water and let the sharks eat it."  Man- I really don't think he wants to have any siblings.

Dax was taking a bath and started touching his "sack".  He got all excited and shouted, "Mommy, I have a ball in my pp.  Feel it Mom.  Do you have a ball in your pp?"  It was the cutest thing and I wish I had it on video.  He could not stop trying to figure out how he got a ball in his pp!  After bath time I was getting him dressed and the was playing puppets with his hands saying, " Hey Left, Hey Right Hand I am going to pop this ball in my pp and no Right hand you get it." This kid has an imagination.

Dax will never of course admit when he is tired.  He will yawn and you will ask him if he is tired and will say, "No, it was just a yawn!"

Dax has a few words that he always says backwards.  I don't really correct him because I think its cute and he only says this young once:
Mouthwash: wash mouth
Seat Belt: Belt Seat
Bloody Nose: Blood Nose

My Mom maybe 60 but she still good lookin!

In July my Mom turned 60!  I loaded the car with Dax and my Grandparents and we went to New Braunfels to have dinner with her for her special day!  He choice was to go to her favorite Sushi place and then we went to Gruene Hall for a few dances.

My oldest brother Brian also turned 40 in August so we decided to go to New Orleans together.  We had a great time.  This was the first time in years since Mom and her kids went on a trip together.  I was glad to be able to bring Dax along also.

Trick Or Treat!

This year we got to experiance Trick or Treating on our new street.  We moved back in August and just love our new street.  We had a block party with a pinata, bobbing for marshmellows, and even a keg for the adults.  There are so many kids on the block!  After the party we hooked up with some new neighbors for trick or treating.

This year Dax was a Sheriff...If you said he was a Cowboy he would correct you fast and let you know he was a Sheriff.
